A harbour-view retreat in Brixham, discovered on holiday, loved ever since, and now shared with guests.

Pirates View wasn’t supposed to be ours. It was simply a place we—Grace, Jonathan, and our two dogs—booked for a much-needed escape to the sea. We arrived in Brixham for a short break… and very quickly realised we didn’t want to leave.
There was something about the way the harbour lights shimmered in the evening, the sound of the gulls at sunrise, and the calm, easy rhythm of the town that made us feel instantly at home. Mornings were spent wandering down to the harbour for coffee, afternoons exploring the coastal paths with the dogs, and evenings watching boats drift by from the living room window. One night we turned to each other and said, half-joking: “Imagine if this was ours?”
A few months later, it was.
Pirates View has been thoughtfully renovated over the years, filled with many of the comforts and small luxuries we’ve loved most on our travels: bright and airy social spaces upstairs, cosy bedrooms to retreat to after a day on the water, and carefully chosen touches—from the 'magic' oven with automated recipes to the Nespresso Vertuo and Alexa—that make holiday living effortless.
And then there’s our favourite feature: the secret pirate cave. Tucked away at the rear of the house, it’s a playful nod to Brixham’s character and history, and a spot that never fails to make guests smile—whether they’re six or sixty.
We wanted Pirates View to feel like a true home by the harbour, not just to us, but to anyone who stays. A place where families, couples, friends, and four-legged explorers can slow down, breathe out, and make memories that last long after the holiday ends.
When we’re not here ourselves, we’re delighted to share Pirates View with guests who fall in love with Brixham just as quickly as we did.
Welcome to our home above the harbour.
We hope Pirates View becomes your happy place, too.
